Blueberry pie is one of the easiest treats to make. The recipe involves no fancy ingredients and little to no effort. But the results are astonishing.

Ingredients

For The Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter cold & cubed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup ice-cold water

For The Filling

  • 5 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 egg + 1 teaspoon water egg wash
  • ¼ corn starch
  • ½ cup raw sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  • Combine salt and flour and mix them together with your hands or using a food processor.
  • Add cubed butter and vanilla. Pulse the blender until the formed crumbles.
  • Add ice-cold water gradually until you get a dough-like texture.
  • Give the dough a disk-like shape with your hands.
  • Refrigerate for two hours or overnight.
  • Prepare the filling by tossing the blueberries with cinnamon, lemon juice, cornstarch, and sugar.
  • Take pie dough, roll it in ¼ inch, and add fillings.
  • Place the remaining dough layer on top or design like a braid.
  • Cook it at 400 degrees. Let it bake. It may take 25 minutes to cook perfectly.
  • Lower the temperature of the oven to 350 degrees. Cook for 30 minutes again.
  • Let it cool before slicing.
