Ingredient Notes and Variations

  1. Sour cream adds a creamy, citrusy texture and taste to the dish. Greek yogurt provides a similar creamy, tangy texture.
  2. Cilantro: It brings a burst of freshness to the tacos. If you don’t want to use it, try fresh parsley or skip it.
  3. Avocado: It adds a creamy, buttery texture to the tacos. Use them diced or meshed. Diced avocado adds a chunkier texture.
  4. Taco seasoning: It is a chili powder, paprika, and cumin blend. Use these spices individually instead of this seasoning, and adjust the amount according to your needs.
  5. Shrimp: For the recipe, use fresh or frozen shrimp. But if you don’t like shrimp, replace them with fish, chicken, or tofu for variation in the dish.
  6. Feta cheese: Feta cheese adds tangy and salty flavors to the tacos. For a milder taste, use cheddar cheese.
