Easy Homemade Cream Cheese Biscuits

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
- 4 oz cream cheese cold and cubed
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 tbsp sugar optional, for sweeter biscuits
- Additional flour for dusting
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and optional sugar.
Add cold, cubed butter and cream cheese. Use a pastry cutter or fingers to work them into coarse crumbs.
Pour in the milk and stir gently until a soft dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it a few times to bring it together.
Roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
Allow the biscuits to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
