Ingredients

For The Dough

  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 package of instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs

For The Filling

  • 3 tablespoons butter room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  • Mix honey, warm (not hot) water, and the yeast. Set it aside for the yeast to activate. It may only take 5-10 minutes.
  • Add the flour, nutmeg (or cinnamon), sugar, and sea salt to a mixing bowl with a dough-hook attachment of a mixer.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs and oil together.
  • Mix dry and liquid ingredients until they resemble dough.
  • Kneading it briefly and letting the dough rise in a greased bowl with a plastic wrap will help it to rise.
  • When the dough has doubled, divide it into three pieces.
  • Roll each sheet and create a rectangular form.
  • Spread oil and sprinkle Cinnamon evenly on rectangular shapes.
  • Roll the dough pieces tightly and create a braid using all three pieces.
  • Place in a pan for baking.
  • Bake at 375℉ for 25-30 mins or until dough is baked and golden brown.
