Ingredient Notes and Variations

  1. Rolled oats: They are the recipe’s star as they provide a base for the granola. They offer a hearty texture and add fiber-rich content to the recipe.
  2. Walnuts: They add a delightful crunch and nutty flavor. You can use other nuts like almonds, pecans, or hazelnuts as an alternative.
  3. Raw sugar: It is used to sweeten the granola. You can use natural sweeteners like maple syrup or honey as a substitute.
  4. Dried cranberries or blueberries: These berries add a chewy and tangy texture to the granola. Instead, you can use other dried fruits like cherries, apricots, or raisins.
  5. Vegetable oil: It acts as a binding agent to the ingredients in the granola. It also helps to coat the ingredients evenly. You can use coconut oil, butter, or almond oil as an alternative.
