Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter 1 stick, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or dark

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream together butter and sugar until creamy and light.
  • Add molasses and egg, and mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ground ginger, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry mixture into the wet mixture until blended.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Scoop spoonfuls of dough, roll into balls and place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden around the edges.
  • Cool on a baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
