Oh, how can i forget my favorite Mexican bread recipe commonly known as Pan de Muerto, or “Bread of the Dead,”. And if you haven’t heard its name, I’m sure you’ll love making it during Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations. You can decorate the bread with with any of the bone-shaped pieces you like. If you plan making this recipe, I recommend adding orange blossom water, and anise seeds, with a sprinkle of sugar to the recipe.
Capirotada
If you are familiar with bread pudding, Capirotada will hit your familiar taste buds of yours. It is flavored with Mexican spices such as cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg, the rich creamy flavor is attributed to the Monterey Jack Cheese and Mexican brown sugar, known as Piloncillo.
I always love adding some dried apricots, figs, chopped walnuts, and raisins to my Capirotada, but you can omit any of these if you have allergies. Use French bread instead of regular ones to make it a more hearty dessert.
Pineapple Empanadas
Empanadas are the real meaning of Delicious. You can fill them with spicy beef, fruit, cheese, or potatoes. If you are craving something sweet, filling them with pineapple fruit is best. Its crispy layer balances its sweet filling.

Horchata
Famous both as a standalon drink as well as accompaniment to other meals, the Horchata is my favorite recipe for Cinco de Mayo. Thanks to its sweet creamy flavor that pairs well with any of the spicy Mexican dish, especially, Slow Cooker Mexican Chicken, Street Corn Casserole or Chicken Enchilada Casserole. Since this drink is typically served cold, I usually make it ahead of time.

In winter mornings or family gathering, this drink is sure to keep you warm from the inside out. Every sip of thick masa (infused in milk and chocolate) will take to the heaven of flavor and aroma. I am sure you’ll definitely replace traditional hot chocolate with this drink during the Christmas or Día de los Muertos.
